The Pigeon Wants A Walrus

For reading this week we have been writing a opinion story about a series of books that is a about a pigeon who wants a lot of things. The Author of the books is called Mo Willems. The books are really funny. The books that we read were The Pigeon Needs A Bath, The Pigeon Wants A Puppy, Don't Let The Pigeon Stay Up Late and Don't Let The Pigeon Drive The Bus.

The Pigeon Wants A Walrus Opinion

In my opinion I think the pigeon should get the walrus as a pet because …

The reason why I think this is because if the pigeon gets the walrus as a pet he can teach the walrus a lot and also the pet walrus can teach the pigeon a lot.

When the pigeon gets the walrus the walrus can teach the pigeon how to swim just in case the pigeon’s wings stop work in the middle of a ocean and then he would fall and die, because he doesn’t know how to swim.

Since the walrus is big maybe it could be the pigeons bodyguard or possible teach the pigeon to defend himself. Also the pigeon could get attack in the air by a hawk and then he will know how to defend himself.

If the pigeon does get the walrus, the pigeon can learn how to be mature and he could raise the walrus like the pigeon’s kid. That is because the pigeon might want his own kids.

That's what I think the pigeon should get the walrus. That's what I think and maybe your should to.

  1. Hi there Evan,

My name is Jade F and I will be working with your school cluster in the Summer Learning Journey Programme this summer break.

I enjoyed reading your blog post about The Pigeon books by Mo Willems. They are a very funny series of books! What is your favourite book by Mo Willems? Mine would be Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus. That is a funny one! I thought your opinion on the pigeon wanting a pet walrus was very original and very funny. The points you made about the walrus being able to teach the pigeon how to defend himself from hawks and teaching him how to swim if his wings got wet. Very creative ideas!

I hope you come in and join the blogging programme this summer. There’s heaps of fun activities to do and many things to blog about, I reckon you’d love it. All you have to do is head onto the activities page and begin the activities. If you would like to have a look at your mates blog posts or other student’s blogs who are in the Summer Learning Journey with you check out the programme’s twitter feed here
