Life Cycle Of A Turtle

The Life Cycle Of A Turtle

Turtles are animals that have been around for 150 million years. Sea turtles are very threatened species.

Sea Turtles lay 50 to 200 eggs in a hole. After 6 weeks 80% of the eggs hatch , and the other 20% die. The eggs are the size of a ping pong ball.

When the sea turtles are born they are the size of a human palm. When the turtles let themselves out of the hole they have many dangers on the way to sea like crabs, wind, and seaweed . 50% of the sea turtles die heading to the sea.

When the eggs have hatched the babys are the size of a palm on a hand. It takes a baby turtle 20 years for it to turn into a  breeding adult.

When the baby sea turtles are born they live for approximately 80 years, but out of all of the surviving sea turtles on 2 of them survive. The 2 survivors later swim to the beach to lay eggs.
