Today in Music Mr Mitchell taught us about different types of Guitars, honestly before this lesson I despised guitars, i'm not sure why I hated them but I just did. Now I enjoy listen to them and learning about them. We were given a task to chose 3 different guitars and research about the length of them, who plays them, their name, features and who would use them.
Classical Guitar
The Classical Guitar or also known as 'The Spanish Guitar'. The Classical guitar has 6 different strings that make 6 different noises. The strings that a Classical guitar uses is known as Nylon strings. A lot of people prefer nylon strings, mainly because nylon strings are much smoother and less painful than metal strings. The length of a regular Classical guitar is 26 inches. A lot of beginner guitarist start off by using a Classical guitar.
Electric Guitar
The Electric Guitar is one of the most played instruments of all time. Every guitar is unique in its own way, when it comes to the electric guitar it has a special thing called a Tremolo Bar (Whammy Bar). What is a whammy bar? well a whammy bar creates its own little sound making the guitar sound distorted. The average length of an electric guitar is about 25.5 inches. One of the greatest humans who put his hands on this instrument was Jimi Hendrix who sadly past away 18 september 1970
