Pasifika Art

In Pasifika art, we are creating our own Tapa Cloth. The steps leading up to it was to: research 2 known pasifika artists, created multiple designs onto a paper, and show the meaning of that designs, next we are to make a master copy of a design you like a lot. Then finally add your design onto the tapa cloth. So far I've enjoyed this hurumanu project, but I would like to get to the Tapa cloth step, so far I am creating my Master Copy. I will be adding a Maori pattern to my master copy. I am certain that the final product will be very beautiful with everyone's designs.

Business enterprise

In business enterprise, Zac, Truby, Angus, and I will be selling homemade hand sanitizer. We think the hand sanitizer will be a very good idea, because of the global pandemic that is surrounding our planet. Selling hand sanitizer will be a very good way to encourage people to wash there hand more often. The hand sanitizer will come in a 50ml bottle with a cap on top. We had multiple ideas going into business but, they were all shut down, except this hand sanitizer idea. I truly believe we will profit and sell out in this business.

Lawyers Paragraph - Roman Empire

The ancient Romans invented many types of technology that we still use today.

These inventions helped shape our live and have made them better.

Without these inventions, the way cars transport would be very different. The introduction of roads was a genius idea that made transportation safer, easy, and easier to access to shops, building and many more. I read a statement on WorldHighways.com and it stated "Roads make a crucial contribution to economic development and growth and bring important social benefits. They are of vital importance in order to make a nation grow and develop. In addition, providing access to employment, social, health and education services makes a road network crucial in fighting against poverty". That statement is very important and proves why the Romans inventions are good.

Surgical tools were made by the Romans, and as we all know without surgical tools many many people will have died. Even though the Romans were not good people, they still made amazing inventions. and the invention of surgical tools is very good proof of how good they are at making things.

So if you still don't think Romans made good technology you are crazy, without these things, the survival rate of surgery would go down, and the way cars transport would be way worse.

Lawyers Paragraph: How Technology changed Communication

Technology has changed the way we use Communication

Technology has made life easier, it is much better for everyone, it is much faster, and communication is much more reliable than it use to be.

Back then, letters got lost in the mail all the time, now with a couple of clicks of keys, you can send an email with less to 10 minutes. Back then phone calls were inconstant, and now days it is instant transmission. This has also changed the way Police communicate, it has changed response times for police by a lot, without technology there would have been much more deaths and incidents, because of slows call responses.

In conclusion, technology has changed the way we use communication, and it has made everything easier.

NZ Land March

In Social studies we have been learning about the land march. The task was to create a DLO and show you understand what the Land March was, and teaching us the importance of it.

We worked very well as a team, involving everyone and everyone putting in the effort and work. We worked like a good oiled car.

I found it challenging finding information, but once we got a little information everything started putting itself together and everything started making sense.

It would be nice to learn more about how the survived the Hikoi, what they ate, how they slept and more things.

I would like to experiment on a different site next time, like making a DLO on Piktochart or something.

How to score a badminton game

For the past week we have been playing badminton in PE. Today I am going to tell you how to score a game of badminton.

You can play badminton in singles or pairs. There are smaller lines for a single match and wilder/deeper lines for a doubles match.

If you hit the shuttlecock over to the opposition side, and they don´t hit it, but it lands within the court lines, you score a point.

If a server is unsuccessful in hitting the shuttlecock over the net, or the serve doesn't go diagonal, its a point to the other team and they get the next serve.

If you hit the shuttlecock out of the court/lines, its a point to the other team.

If you dont hit the shuttleckock, or dont hit it back over the net, and it falls to the ground on your side of the court, its a point to the other team,

The first team to reach 21 points wins the game. There are usaslly 3 games played, so you might win 3-0,2-1 or 2-0

If the teams are both on 20 points in a game, the winner must get two points ahead to win, eg. 22-20

Maori Land March 1975

For Social Studies we are learning about the hikoi that Dane Whina Cooper lead. The hikoi was 30 days and they started in Te Hapua and ended in Wellington. Te Kao, Kaitaia, Mangamuka, Otiria, Whangarei, Kaiwaka, Wellsford, Orewa, Northcote, Auckland, Ngaruwahia, Kihikihi, Otorohanga, Te Kuiti, Tauramunui, Raurimu, Raetihi, Wanganui, Ratana, Bulls, Palmerston North, Shannon, Otaki, Porirua, Wellington.

Songs that represent Martha ( From Abomination Book)

I was to make a 5 song playlist about a character in a book we are reading. I chose a young lady named Martha, who is being brought up in a very strict house hold and is not aloud friends and her mum makes her clothes. She is being bullied at school for her appearance, looks, clothes, they chase her everywhere, and many more things.

Bars and Melody - Hopeful

This song is about a Kid who is being bullied for many things, and to make things worse his parents have an unstable relationship. The way he heals himself is through music. Him and his friend creating a song that got them a golden buzzer on Britain's Got Talent.

Christina Aguilera - Beautiful

In that song she is basically your don't have to listen to what people say focus on yourself and everybody is beautiful no matter what. For Martha that means her clothes are not ugly and she isn't ugly.

Rachael Crow - Mean Girls

A 14 yr old former X factor contestant write this song for those who get called things like freaks, weirdo, get called names. She was basically telling everyone that you rule the world not those bullies. For Martha she gets called Raggedy Ann, freak and it doesn't stop.

Jonah From Tonga - Don't be a bully

This song is about a group of Tongan boys who are trying to encourage people not to bully, because his brother is being bullied. In the song you can here Moses (the boy who is being bullied) say " I fell sad, I feel pain, when you call me that name, i'm a person just like you". That lyrics demonstrated what a single name can do to you or make your feel.

Sugababe - Ugly

The meaning of this song is basically if you call someone ugly your ugly, and everyone ugly. No matter what people say don't listen to them.

Steroids in Sports

Why do people use steroids in sport ?They use steroids to recover from there injuries and also makes your muscles strong and you could win in some sport events using steroids

What influences people to take steroids? It gives you an unfair advantage over non steroid users example:If you were tied with someone in a sport like tie in cardio you could use steroids to make you have better cardio then the person you are tied with.

What short term and long term effects do? kidney problems or failure. liver damage and tumors. enlarged heart, high blood pressure, and changes in blood cholesterol,

What are the laws and penalties? The possession or sale of anabolic steroids without a valid prescription is illegal

What other issues does this link with?Steroid hormones help control metabolism, inflammation, immune functions, salt and water balance,

Why are steroids bad for your body? It can cause liver damage, cancer, and risk of heart disease.

This work displays what steroids does it sports. As shown it is really bad and no one should do them for performance enhancements. I worked very well with my group. But I think I would like to work solo next time for the challange

The 30 rights

Rights are what keep the world together so without rights I would be a very scared child. The reason why i'm talking about rights is because it is what we are learning about in Social Studies.

The task we were given was to list all 30 rights and discuss your top rights and why. It was a very hard to decide but I managed to list my top 4. Human rights are one of the best things that has happened to this earth. I hope these rights stay forever so I don't have to experience things like Torture.

Pita Pockets

In Home Economics we created Pita Pockets. Pita Pockets are a cut open pita bread stuffed with things of your choosing, like chicken, ham, vegetables, sauces. For mine I added shredded chicken, ham, lettuce and sauce. They were pretty good. It had a loud crunch from the fresh lettuce, but I think I could have been improved by adding sour cream. I came across a problem during the start, I accidentally cut the bread in half. I think I can fix that next time by being more careful. Overall I enjoyed the whole lesson and hope to do something like that again.

Ingredients

Cheese

Ham

Lettuce
